This program will address one of ARMA International’s most notable
projects. Unveiled at the 2007 ARMA Conference in Baltimore, the
ARMA Competencies Project promises to be one of the most valuable
tools for career planning in the history of the Association. Finally!
Something you can take to your Human Resources Department to
review and compare your current classification!
ARMA's RIM Competencies establish levels of achievement with
knowledge, skill and task levels for entry level, analytical, managerial
and executive careers in records management covering the following
domains: Records and Information Management, Communications
and Marketing, Leadership Management, Information Technology and
Risk Management. Our speaker will discuss how the competency
document can be used as a tool to assess your status as a RIM
professional and assist in planning professional development efforts.
Ms. Gearhart was a member of the team that developed the
competency document by working with 40 other RIM professionals
to study the various levels by domains. The speaker will also share
how instrumental the competencies have been in planning a new
degree program at one of Michigan’s leading universities.
